Although Microsoft Corp’s Internet Explorer browser continued to bleed  market share last month, Apple Inc’s Safari was an even bigger loser during February, an Internet metrics company said today.image

Firefox continues to gain market share and Internet Explorer continues it’s gradual slide, but it was Safari that was the big loser last month falling 0.3%.

Firefox registered it’s fifth month in a row increase finishing with 21.7% of the browser market share, still a long way behind Internet Explorer with 67.5%.

Other browsers like Google Chrome rose to 1.15% and Opera with a slight increase to 0.71%.

Microsoft Corp. officially launched its Business Productivity Online Suite outside of the U.S. today, headlined by a deal with GlaxoSmithKline PLC as its first major customer for the hosted communications software suite.

Microsoft’s big push into hosted services took a major step forward today with announcements of availability to a number of countries and it’s first big company GlaxoSmithKline PLC to adopt these services.

Whilst the online suite was rolled out to the US in November it has now become available for trial in 19 countries around the world

Costs at this stage are not clear but ComputerWorld are reporting a $15 cost per head, per month for the four application suite.

This should see Microsoft and Google once again butt heads as they vie for the online services market.
